Matt: The Soccer Pro Who Won't Let Racism Kick Him Down

Matt Thomas is a seasoned veteran in the world of soccer, bringing a wealth of knowledge and experience to the field. With a professional career spanning across Europe and a deep understanding of the Canadian soccer landscape, he is a valuable asset to any team or organization.

In addition to his athletic prowess, Matt is also an exceptional learning facilitator. He has had the privilege of working with coaches and players in nine countries and continues to mentor and guide individuals from around the globe.

Matt's journey has not been without its struggles. As a person of color, he has been all too familiar with the insidious and destructive nature of racism and hate. From being subjected to derogatory slurs and having a banana thrown at him to someone deliberately moving away from him at the young age of 6, these traumatic experiences have left a deep impact on him.

These events have created an internal anger within him that he has carried with him throughout his life, an anger that stems from a problem in the community that is beyond his control. These experiences have been a constant reminder of the deep-seated prejudices that still exist in our society and the ways in which they can harm and marginalize individuals. They have also reinforced his commitment to social justice and helped him develop a greater understanding of the reality of racism and the need for it to be addressed.

Through the Mental and Emotional Release process, Matt breaks through these negative emotions and overcomes the malice he faced in the past. He learns to recognize the injustice he encountered and let go of the anger that was holding him back. He understands that holding on to hatred only serves to harm oneself, and that true healing and growth can only come from forgiveness and acceptance.

Matt refused to let these experiences define him or hold him back. Instead, he used his experiences to become a powerful advocate for change and a voice for those who have been affected by racism and discrimination.

He models the resilience and strength of the human spirit and the ways in which we can all work to create a more just and equitable society for everyone. He continues to inspire others to speak out against racism and hate and to strive for a world where everyone is treated with dignity and respect. Matt's determination to rise above his experiences and create a better future for himself and others is admirable, and is an example of the positive impact that one person can have on the world no matter the obstacles or challenges that stand in their way.
